Sevilla lost to Real Madrid, with a final score of 0-1, in the 37th round of the current La Liga season, at the “Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan”, in a duel in which the goal scored by Vinicius Junior, at the end of the first quarter of an hour, decided the fate of the three points. If the “los blancos” group achieved its second consecutive triumph in the domestic competition, after the defeat recorded in “El-Clasico”, the Andalusian team managed to achieve its objective, namely, to remain in La Liga, despite the failure suffered in front of its own supporters.

The match in Andalusia began with Luis Garcia’s team in attack, Oso passing to Neal Maupay in the middle, whose shot from about 18 meters was held back, in two stages, by Thibaut Courtois. Later, the Belgian goalkeeper was seriously tested by Oso, the left winger of the Andalusians receiving a ball near the opponent’s box and sending a “cannonball” towards the goals of the “galactic” group, but the Real Madrid goalkeeper responded in the affirmative and rejected the ball out of the field. The scoreboard was unblocked near the first quarter of an hour of this clash, when Brahim Diaz threw a ball towards Kylian Mbappe, and after the French striker fell, the ball reached Vinicius Jr.’s foot.

Without thinking too much, the Brazilian footballer put the ball wide, from a central position, beating Odysseas Vlachodimos with a shot sent directly into the left corner. Sevilla players accused Jose Carmona of being fouled by the visitors’ “decarlo” in the duel he had with Kylian Mbappe, but the central referee was not notified from the VAR booth, so the South American left winger’s success was validated. In the second half of the match, Alexis Sanchez’s entry into the field “electrified” the game, and in the 56th minute, the Chilean footballer narrowly missed contact with the ball, slipping, from the goal mouth defended by Thibaut Courtois.

On the counterattack, with approximately 20 minutes left to play in this game, Vinicius Jr. made his way among the Andalusian group’s defenders and passed into free space for Franco Mastantuono, who, in turn, entered the pitch during the meeting at the “Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan”. The Argentine footballer from Real Madrid stopped the ball with his foot, as in indoor football, and then, his completion with his left foot, at the far corner, hit the right post of the goal defended by the Greek goalkeeper of Seville. Vinicius Jr. was on the rebound, and after a series of successful dribbles, the Brazilian player shot to the far corner, but the ball went wide.

Kylian Mbappe was launched into an ideal position by Jude Bellingham, who received a pass on the right side from Franco Mastantuono. The French striker of the group from the capital of Spain entered the box, dribbled the opposing goalkeeper and scored without any problems, but the flag was raised from the sidelines, so his success no longer counted. Juanlu crossed into the mouth of the goal defended by Thibaut Courtois, and, from the fall, Akor Adams resumed with a header, but his execution was caught without emotions by the goalkeeper from Belgium.

Sevilla’s last chance to equalise came in the final seconds of the match, when Juanlu’s corner kick at the far post reached Alexis Sanchez, whose pass to Kike Salas prompted the home defender to finish the game, but his powerful shot was saved in the nick of time by Thibaut Courtois, meaning Real Madrid would leave Andalusia with all three points. Despite this setback, the team, which had been in form for three consecutive wins in the Spanish league before the match against “los blancos”, and had also enjoyed good results in the other matches, managed to secure their place in La Liga.

In the last round of the current season, Sevilla will play in Galicia against Celta Vigo, while the group trained by Alvaro Arbeloa will “face off” with Athletic Bilbao at home in what will be the last performance of a “living” legend of the club, Daniel Carvajal, in front of his own fans. At the same time, the game that will take place in the Spanish capital will most likely be the last in which the “los blancos” team will be led from the sidelines by the current Iberian coach, before Jose Mourinho, who has been increasingly rumored in recent times that he could return to the “Bernabeu”, signs a contract valid for two seasons with the club chaired by Florentino Perez.
